George R.R. Martin Hints at Future Project With Arya Stark Actress Maisie Williams

Say what you will about George R.R. Martin, one thing you can’t say about him is that he is never working. He has too many projects going on (way too many in my opinion) and he recently hinted that a future project with Arya Stark actress Maisie Williams may be in the works.

At this point, I have lost track of all the shows (and books) that Martin is working on. From the countless Game of Thrones spinoff series to even a Game of Thrones movie, nothing seems to be off the table. And Martin suggested that he might be working on something with Maisie Williams…or not. He was vague about it on his latest blog post Not A Blog.

“We also got together with Maisie Williams for pizza and pasta, and talked about… well, no, better not get into that, do not want to jinx it,” wrote Martin on his blog post. “But it could be so much fun.”

Martin met up with Williams and they talked about something in the works. Because Martin doesn’t want to jinx it, I believe it is a project together. But is it Game of Thrones related? We do not know as of yet but I do think that might be the case because why else would he approach the actress you portrayed Arya Stark.

My guess is that it might be yet another Game of Thrones spinoff and this one will look at Arya Stark in the future as she gets older. Most likely. Arya will inherit the throne and be the Queen of the North. Martin has always loved Arya as a character and I do think that Arya would end up being the queen in the future if Game of Thrones never ended.

The second sentence “But it could be so much fun,” sounds like Martin has envisioned their collaboration playing out and that he would enjoy the result. Martin is a writer and Williams is an actress and you can put two and two together.

But Martin should slow done his work output because he has way too many projects going on as it is. He is still working on releasing The Winds of Winter which I think most fans don’t think will ever be complete. Martin is also working on another prequel to A Song of Ice and Fire and the multiple spinoffs that are already in the works.

He does enjoy expanding the Game of Thrones universe and I am all for it but not if it isn’t detrimental to his ongoing works. That has been the case and he is producing content that fans aren’t asking for. Maybe after he finishes his next book, sure. But he has a backlog of work that is infuriating fans and creating an endless loop of criticism and backlash that he doesn’t enjoy.

We will find out what this project is in the near future but most likely, it will be a Arya Stark spinoff. We have seen Game of Thrones in the past but with this project, we will get to see what the future of Game of Thrones looks like. Are you excited about a potential Arya Stark spinoff?
