Maisie Williams says what we all have thought since the last two seasons of Game of Thrones aired: the ending was horrible.
Maisie Williams Admits Show Ending ‘Fell Off at the End’
Williams plays Arya Stark and she let he feelings about the ending of the show be known. While on a Twitch stream with her brother James Williams, the actress said she rewatched Game of Thrones and was not impressed with the ending.
“It definitely fell off at the end,” Williams said. She complimented the first few seasons and said the show “started really strong.”

“It kinda popped off,” Maisie said. “For the longest time… I could never see it from the outside. So I could never say that and actually understand it. For the first time, it feels good to be proud of it. It was 10 years of my life.”
How Maisie Williams Felt When her Family on Game of Thrones Died
Williams also talked about how she felt when her family on the show died.
“I was heartbroken when Ned died, yet I knew it was coming,” Williams said of Arya’s father, who was killed in Season 1.
In another interview, Williams discussed her experience on the show and said “I don’t think it’s healthy [to miss it], because I loved it. I look at it so fondly, and I look at it with such pride. But why would I want to make myself feel sad about the greatest thing that ever happened to me? I don’t want to associate that with feelings of pain.”
Williams continued, “I think that when I started becoming a woman, I resented Arya because I couldn’t express who I was becoming. And then I also resented my body, because it wasn’t aligned with the piece of me that the world celebrated.”

Being a celebrity during your teens is difficult, especially in a show that was as big as Game of Thrones. Considering the role Arya had to play in the show, Williams was integral to the plot and a major character throughout the whole show.
Will Williams Return to Game of Thrones in the Future?
There has been renewed interest in the Game of Thrones world as House of the Dragon has recently aired and a Spinoff show about Jon Snow is in development. That led to Williams answering if she would return to the Game of Thrones world in the future.
“It has to be the right time and the right people,” Williams said. “It has to be right in the context of all the other spinoffs and the universe of ‘Game of Thrones.’ It has to be the right time for me.”
