The data used for this article is from Goodreads and they make it easy to track this data with real numbers available. The downside of Goodreads is that the data leans a certain way because most Goodread users are younger-leaning and often females. As a result, the novels that are often trending are popular with young adults.

The Women by Kristin Hannah tops the weeky global list as It Ends With Us finally starts to cool down. This novel is going to be the most sold novel of the year and should stay in the top five list for the rest of the year. Whether it ends up winning awards is the question I want answers to

In second place is Emily Henry’s Funny Story and I expect this novel to re,main in the top ten for the rest of the year. Henry is one of the biggest romance authors alive and her books tend to always trend until she releases another novel. This novel cannot seem to overtake The Women as it is always right behind it/

Another novel and author that are making noise are Just for the Summer by Abby Jimenez. Also released in 2024, this novel has been charting high on the weekly list as well as the weekly bestseller list month in and month out. Jimenez’s novel is fun and I can see why readers love it and I do think Jimenez will become a fan favorite in the coming years.

Fourth Wing takes fourth place as the novel and the Empyrion series stays in the top ten. Rebecca Yarros is having a moment and with her next novel set to release in January 2025, she might just break the internet. Coming in fifth place is It Ends With Us as it starts to cool down.
