It is that time of the year again! Amazon has gotten the party started with its pick of the best books of 2024 and more will follow in the coming weeks. Until that happens, we will be looking at Amazon’s best books of 2024 to see what books made their end of year list!
Every year, I look forward to Amazon’s selection of the best books of the year and see how my list compares to theirs. The list by Amazon was chosen by their editors and they have always stayed true to their love of books and it shows. There are some amazing picks as well as some surprises that I did not see coming.
Amazon’s Best Books of 2024
- The Boys of Riverside by Thomas Fuller
- The God of the Woods by Liz Moore
- James by Percival Everett
- The Women by Kristin Hannah
- The Small and the Mighty by Sharon McMahon
- Martyr! by Kaveh Akbar
- Be Ready When the Luck Happens by Ina Garten
- The Wedding People by Alison Espach
- I Cheerfully Refuse by Leif Enger
- The Familiar by Leigh Bardugo
The list starts off with a book that did not come across my newsfeed at all. The Boys of Riverside by Thomas Fuller is a football story about an all-deaf team that defies expectations. I am curious now and will be checking this book out and see if Amazon’s selection was right or not.

For the most part, this list has some of the most important works released this year such as James by Percival Everett, The Women by Kristin Hannah, and Martyr! by Kaveh Akbar. But the list also has some of the most popular books of the year also such as The God of the Woods by Liz Moore, The Wedding People by Alison Espach, and The Familiar by Leigh Bardugo.
Overall, this is a pretty solid list that does a good job of mixing popular books, important works, and surprise selections that few lists will have. I know I will be reading a bunch of the books that made this list and can’t wait to see what the other book lists look like and compare to this one. Happy reading!
