The Longlist for one of the most notable book awards, the National Book Awards for Young People’s Literature has been released.
These ten books were selected from a pool of 348 titled. All eleven authors are all first timers. The list includes seven fictions and three works of nonfiction. One of the books nominated is a graphic novel.

- Hidden Systems: Water, Electricity, the Internet, and the Secrets Behind the Systems We Use Every Day by Dan Nott
- A First Time for Everything by Dan Santat
- Parachute Kids by Betty C. Tang
- More Than a Dream: The Radical March on Washington for Jobs and Freedom by Yohuru Williams and Michael G. Long
When the Winners Will be Announced
The winners will be announced on Tuesday, October 3 and announced live on November 15. The judges for the Young People’s Literature are Sarah Park Dahlen, Kyle Lukoff, Claudette S. McLinn (Chair), justin a. reynolds, and Sabaa Tahir.
