A fifth Hunger Games books is about to be released and we have all the information you need to know about this novel!

Suzanne Collins will be releasing Sunrise on the Reaping on March 18 and the novel is set 24 years before the first Hunger Games novel. In this novel, Collins takes us back to Panem for the 50th annual games where Katniss’ future mentor is competing.

Sunrise on the Reaping Summary

Haymitch Abernathy lives in district 12 and enjoys living a peaceful life and spend time with his girlfriend. But his name is called and he has to leave his hope and go to the capitol and try to win the Hunger Games.

But soon after participating in the games, Haymitch learns that the game is rigged and that he never had a chance. That makes him fight back and lead a movement that reaches far beyond the games.

The Hunger Games is Back

Like many people, I was also swept by The Hunger Games hype as it was everywhere in the late 2000s and the early 2010s. The novels were well written and the plot was interesting. Collins is a talented author and that is a big reason the series did well.

Seeing the Hunger Games trend again over a decade later is impressive and shows the dedicated fanbase that the series has acquired over the years. The other dystopian novels released after the success of The Hunger Games have come and gone but this series is still thriving even after all the hype around dystopian novels has died down.

Fans of this series won’t have to wait long as the novel is set to release on March 18. You can read a snippet of the book at PEOPLE as they have an early except from the novel.
