September was a great month for new books and now we know what the best selling books of September were. Find out what the top selling books are and what popular book topped the list!
The year is flying by and with less than two months left, the final books of the year releasing and then we can look back and see just how incredible this year was for new books. I’ve been covering it for most of the year and I can honestly say, this was a great year for new books. And this list reflective of that as many of the best selling books were released in 2024.
But the top selling book of the year was not. You can probably guess it with three or four guesses because Fourth Wing has been everywhere. The list was dominated by popular authors with big fan bases for the most part. You can see the full list below!

Fourth Wing is the Best Selling Book of September
It is impressive that Fourth Wing topped the list in September, more than a year after the novel was released. Rebecca Yarros is the author of the moment and is going to make even more noise when the third book in the Empyrean series in January. She might be the best selling author two straight years and for the foreseeable future.
In second place is Good Energy by Casey Means and while I know nothing aboutb this book, I do know the power of self-help books. They tend to sell really well and it looks like Means’ book will be the latest self-help book to dominate the charts for the next couple of months.
Whenever Nicholas Sparks drops a novel, you know it well sell well. And that is what happened with her newest novel Counting Miracles. He is a household name and even decades later, he is still beloved by fans and that is why his novel in the top three. That is impressive considering that he outsold Colleen Hoover and Sarah J. Maas. Granted, they didn’t release any new books but still, we know how big those fan bases are.
Conclusion
These are the best selling books of September and the list includes beloved novels that have been out for months and newer books by popular authors.
