To Celebrate Black History month, Goodreads has released its list of the best fiction novels from the past decade from black authors. Keep reading to find out which 10 essential books made their list!
Making a list like this is never easy. But ultimately, these lists help readers find books to read that they otherwise wouldn’t have come across. Goodreads limited the books from the past decade and I think that was a smart idea.

With so many books to choose from, Goodreads jumped right in with a novel released last year with The Heaven & Earth Grocery Store as their first pick. And if you have read the novel, then you wouldn’t disagree. James McBride is a talented author whose storytelling is unmatched.
The list contains a bunch of well-known authors such as Colson Whitehead and Yaa Gyasi. They are great authors to dive into and you will be lost in the novels in no time. You can see the full list below
