A High Standard

There are some great books on the list. The high standard that USA TODAY makes this a difficult list to make but 18 books were able to make the cut. There are some gems here like Sea of Tranquility by Emily St. John Mandel and Our Missing Hearts, by Celeste Ng.

Still, I do not like the approach by USA TODAY. By making it so only books that got a perfect rating make the list is ridiculous. Especially because there is no perfect way to rate books. The process is biased and it comes down to personal preference at the end of the day.

Conclusion

There are have been tons of lists and it is fun to see how different organizations have been choosing their best books of 2022. I personally am not a fan of USA TODAY’s formula. But that is how they do thinks I guess. Until next time, happy reading!
