As the year comes to an end, major authors and publishers are releasing their long awaited books. But they aren’t the only ones as celebrities are also releasing tell-all books that fans have eagerly purchased. Michelle Obama’s second book The Light We Carry was finally released but it was beaten by two other books.

Colleen Hoover is Unstoppable
Four of the ten bestselling books belong to Colleen Hoover and that is the normal at this point. Her new book It Starts With Us was released in October 2022 and has been dominating the charts since it came out. That is no surprise but seeing three other books still sell a lot of copies is hard to grasp.
In second place is Jeff Kinney with Diper Överlöde. It is part of the Dairy of a Wimpy Kid series helped Kinney sell the most books last year. It is no surprise that Hoover and Kinney were able to surpass Michelle Obama’s book in sales as they have a huge following.
Matthew Perry’s Friends, Lovers, And The Big Terrible Thing and Bono’s Surrender made the list. They have a huge following from their tv show and music catalog. Most authors cannot compete with that and they are also more likely to get free promo with headlines discussing their new books.
Conclusion
I am glad and surprised Colleen Hoover’s novel November 9 didn’t make it the list. I would have enjoyed confusing readers with it. Expect December to stay mostly the same. It is crazy that Hoover has novels that were released in 2016 and 2016 making the list. I wouldn’t be shocked if she had the top five bestselling novels of the year.
