Michelle Obama is planning on going on a six-city tour this upcoming fall to promote her new book The Light We Carry: Overcoming in Uncertain Times
The Light We Carry Book Tour
The tour is set to start in mid-November and will start off in Washinton D.C. and end in Los Angeles a month later. Michelle is excited about her upcoming tour and reuniting with people from her previous tour.
“I’m looking forward to making some new connections — and of course, seeing some familiar faces from the last tour,” Michelle Obama said in a joint statement released with her publisher Crown as well as her promoter Live Nation.

“This book means so much to me — it’s a collection of perspectives and practices I’ve used to keep me afloat amid uncertainty. On this tour, I’ll be sharing some personal stories and lessons that have helped me along my path, and I can’t wait to tell you more.”
All the Cities Michelle Obama Will Visit
Other cities the former first lady plans to visit include Philadelphia, Atlanta, Chicago, and San Francisco. The venues can seat from 2000-6,500 people, making it bigger than most book events but smaller than Obama’s first stop in her last tour in Chicago for her memoir Becoming which holds over 15,000 people.
In her previous tour for Becoming, Obama was joined by guest moderators such as Oprah Winfrey, Tracee Ellis Ross and Sarah Jessica Parker. The guest moderators for this tour haven’t been announced but expect it to be some big names. When Michelle Obama invites you, you would be crazy to say no.
Can This Book Recreate the Success of ‘Becoming’?
Becoming was an instant bestseller and went on to sell over 17 million copies worldwide. That is a record for a former white house resident. Expect this book to also move a lot of units. Only time will tell how much but it will be topping charts when it comes out.
