More House of the Dragon to Come
With season one ending as the start of the war between the Greens and the Blacks, everyone is eager to see what happens next. An epic dragon versus dragon fight scene finally took place and more will follow. But how long will the wait be?
Just after the first episode of the show premiered, HBO announced that it would be renewing the series for a second season. That is a bold move considering they didn’t even wait to see how the season would play out. They knew that the show would be a hit and they guessed correctly.
The good news is that the show is going to multiple seasons even if HBO has not come out and said it. George R.R. Martin, author of the book Fire and Blood that the show is adapted from, has said that it will take about four seasons to properly tell the tale of Dance of the Dragons.
And if that wasn’t enough, Matt Smith, the actor who plays Daemon Targaryen, let it slip that the show is planning for the long haul. On a podcast, Smith said “Once we make the jump, we’re in. I’m pretty sure from then on there’s not any big huge time jumps, particularly next season and the one after.”
When is Season Two Coming Out?
Season two will be coming out in about two years. Production for season two has already started and filing is expected to start in spring or summer 2023. Filimg for season one started in April 2021 and the show aired 15 months later. That would put the timetable for the show for Fall 2024.
