The eighth and final episode of The Lord of the Rings, The Rings of Power is almost here and we can’t wait to see how the season ends. The trailer for the 8th episode hints at some big events happening. Will we find out who Sauron is?
The Rings of Power Episode 8 Trailer
Elrond and the Elves need mithril or they will die by next spring. The trailer shows that being a focus of the episode. Will they finally end this plotline or will we see it in season 2? In episode 7, the mines were shut and a balrog was lurking in the bottom of the mines. For that reason alone, expect this plotline to keep going.
We are also shown Galadriel and Halbrand marching across the lands. Halbrand is being taken back to Lindon. At this point, he has to be Sauron and we may get a reveal by the end of the episode.
The white cloak figures make a return and they are still searching for meteor man. In the trailer, Nori seems possessed as her eyes change color. What does that mean? The white cloaks will try to use Nori to get close to meteor man. Expect an epic showdown involving meteor man.
Showrunners JD Payne and Patrick McKay Comment on the Season Finale
Showrunners JD Payne and Patrick McKay commented on the finale and it sounds like the season won’t be ending on an epic battle.
“It can become very tempting to end your season on a huge battle. We like the idea of a more intimate, emotional battle, at least that was the aspiration,” they said. “And then going deeper and deeper and deeper into character. And hopefully, when you watch the eighth episode, that’s what it feels like. We want the stakes to feel bigger, but not necessarily in the scope or the special effects.”
