Half His Age
I loved Jenette McCurdy’s memoir I’m Glad My Mom Died and will be checking out her latest novel Half His Age. This is her first work of fiction and after seeing her shine in her previous book, I have high hopes.
The novel is about a 17-year old student named Waldo who has feelings for her creative writing teacher. She doesn’t understand these feelings herself. This is funny and emotional novel that dives into the protagonist and what it means to love and to be loved.
Woman Down
There is nothing that needs to be said about Colleen Hoover at this point. She is one of the most popular authors right now. And she is not stopping anytime soon. Her latest novel is a thriller about a frustrated author and a movie adaptation that didn’t do well.
The backlash over Petra Rose’s latest film adaptation leads her to take a break and overdue bills. She has become viral for the wrong reasons and everyone wants to cancel her. But when Detective Nathaniel Saint arrives at the retreat, she is inspired once again.
Her story starts to mimic Nathaniel’s adventures. But it starts going too far and cost Nathaniel and her more than she is willing to sacrifice.
Vigil
George Saunders is the award winning author of Lincoln in the Bardo and returns with a fantastic new book called Vigil. Anything Saunders write is a must read.
His newest novel is about Jill “Doll” Blaine, who helps guide souls into the afterlife. But her latest soul is a difficult one that cannot be consoled. What follows is a look at the life of a man with a complicated past. One that asks questions about good and evil and what we leave behind when it is all over.
Nine Goblins: A Tale of Low Fantasy and High Mischief

T. Kingfisher’s latest novel is called Nine Goblins and is a rerelease. The protagonists are goblins and it about their latest adventures. J.R.R. Tolkien made us love hobbits and maybe Kingfisher can make you love goblins after this novel. I am excited to read this novel and see goblins in a new light.
