Summer is just around the corner and it seems like everyone is already talking about the books that will be releasing soon. That is why we will be looking at TIMES’ most anticipated books releasing this summer!
Last week we covered NPR’s list of the books to read this summer. Their list had some incredible novels that I will be checking out. TIME only has four books from their list on their own list which I was surprised to see. I expected a lot of similar titles but TIME and NPR are two different publications and you can see that in their lists.
TIME has more big name authors than NPR and that sounds about right. Popular authors are more likely to catch TIME’s eyes whereas NPR is actually reading tall the books that come across their desk. If you want to find a gem, then NPR is the better bet. But if you want to see trending books and authors, then this list is for you!
Times’ Most Anticipated Books of the Summer
- Atmosphere by Taylor Jenkins Reid
- The Catch by Yrsa Daley-Ward
- The Dry Season by Melissa Febos
- Flashlight by Susan Choi
- Bury Our Bones in the Midnight Soil by V. E. Schwab
- Great Black Hope: A Novel by Rob Franklin
- King of Ashes: A Novel by S.A. Cosby
- Ordinary Love by Marie Rutkoski
- These Heathens by Mia McKenzie
- The Compound by Aisling Rawle
- The Girls Who Grew Big by Leila Mottley
- I Want to Burn This Place Down: Essays by Maris Kreizman
- Vera, or Faith by Gary Shteyngart
- Maggie; or, A Man and a Woman Walk Into a Bar by Katie Yee

- Katabasis by R.F. Kuang
I like TIME’s list and have heard many of these books before. The one I am most excited about is Katabasis by R.F. Kuang and that is because I am a fan of Kuang. This is one of many novels that fans are eager to read and will end up being the books of the summer. Happy reading!
