The New York Times has been consistently sharing their favorite books of the week. And we will be looking at which books the New York Times chose for this week and if you should check them out!

I personally like the New York Times doing this for many reasons. This is a lot better than being flooded by 30 books at the end of the month. And this gives more books spotlight and a chance to be read by more people.

Every week, critics and editors a the New York Times get together and choose their favorite new releases. More publications should do this if they can because we need to know what new books are worth checking out. You can see the full list below!

New York Times’s Weekly Favorite Books

One of the novels I am excited to read is The Hounding by Xenobe Purvis mostly because of the blurb. Seeing it on multiple lists as one of the best new releases of August is a good sign. I will be trying to read any spoilers until I get around to reading this novel

If you like books about chefs or food, then you’ll love Tart by Slutty Cheff. I have been reading a lot of books about food but this book is more than about food. It is also about sex and is anonymous so expect the author to hold nothing back.

The novel getting the most attention on this list is People Like Us by Jason Mott. That’s because his last novel won the National Book Award in 2021. This novel has a lot of hype and from the reviews so far, it seems to be living up to them.

Conclusion

These are the New York Times’s weekly favorite books list and it is a solid one. I know I will be checking out most of these books in the coming months. Which books on this list caught your eye? Let us know in the comments below!
