We have less than half of the year left and I can’t believe that 2025 is almost over. But the good news is that we are getting closer to major book adaptations being released soon.
The list of book adaptations is impressive and I know I will be tuning in to watch some of them. We have popular authors such as Stephen King and Colleen Hoover coming to the big screen soon. King holds the record for the most adaptations and this is Hoover’s second book being adapted.
If that wasn’t enough to excite you, then you should know that there are some other names that will surely pique your interest. You can see the full list below!
The Best Book Adaptations Coming Out in 2025
- My Oxford Year by Julia Whelan – Netflix
- The Thursday Murder Club by Richard Osman – Netflix
- The Long Walk by Stephen King – Theaters
- Regretting You by Colleen Hoover – Theaters
- The Running Man by Stephen King – Theaters
- Hamnet by Maggie O’Farrell – Theaters
- The Housemaid by Frieda McFadden
- The Woman in Cabin 10 by Ruth Ware – Netflix
- Frankenstein by Mary Shelley – Netflix
I am excited to see The Thursday Murder Club getting an adaptation and it should be fantastic. Not every adaptation is great but with some adaptations, you have higher hopes. We will find out soon if the adaptation is a hit as it will be releasing in late August.
If you have read my previous articles, then you know that I am not the biggest Frieda McFadden fan. But she is very popular and we are getting our first adaptation of her book and it will be one of many. Hopefully the movie is good because I do not want the market flooded with mediocre movies just for a money grab.
When I saw The Woman in Cabin 10 getting an adaptation, I honestly believed that is was a mistake. It felt like it has already got an adaptation but that’s just what happens when a lot of thrillers have similar plots. I am excited about this and see if it turns out as good as the book.
Lastly, as a big fan of classics, seeing Frankenstein on this list made my day. If you haven’t read the novel, then do so now. Many consider this to be the first horror novel and centuries later, the novel is still just as good. I can’t wait to see how the adaptation turns out.
Conclusion
These are the best book adaptions coming out in 2025. There are your typical King adaptations and then everyone else who wants to follow in King’s footsteps. We are seeing some of the most popular authors getting adaptations and can’t wait to see how they turn out!
