The Most Read Books of the Week on Goodreads

We are three weeks into January 2025 and the popular books are trending as readers gravitate towards them now that the holiday season is over. Find out what the most read books of the week were on Goodreads!

This month has flown by and it seems like everyone is excited about the third book in the Empyrean series by Rebecca Yarros that released this week. We will definitely see it on this list come next week. But for now, the first two books in the series are the most read.

Fourth Wing and Iron Flame came in one and two and that should come as no surprise. I imagine many fans of the series are revisiting the first two books to refresh their memories. In third place is The Housemaid by Freida McFadden, an author who had a high 2024 and has continued the trend to start 2025.

She has five books in the top 20 and is also getting a movie adaptation in the near future. Her novel The Boyfriend came in fourth and if it wasn’t for the release of the third Empyrean book, she would have topped the charts.

In fifth place was The Wedding People by Alison Espach who I imagine will have a big year and might be the next author to blow up. This list is for the week ending in  Jan 19. You can see the full list below!
