Oprah’s Book Club Chooses 2008 Bestseller “A New Earth” as 110th Pick

With the new year here, Oprah’s Book Club wastes no times and chooses A New Earth by Eckhart Tolle as the 110^th book club pick.

A New Earth was released in 2005 and was picked by Oprah’s Book Club in 2008, leading it to top the charts.

“As we welcome a new year, I wanted to revisit the book that had more effect on me than any other book by a living author has had on my perception of how I understand my connection to the world,” Winfrey said. “As Eckhart’s work continues to speak to people from all generations, this podcast conversation is an offering to hear about his groundbreaking work ‘A New Earth’ and allow us all to experience brand new a-ha’s.”

We have all revisited our favorite books and Oprah is no different. But choosing it for her book club is a big decision. Will other books chosen a reappearance on the list? We won’t know the answer to this question until it happens but it isn’t a bad outcome.

My only complaint here would be that there are so many amazing books released in 2024 and upcoming new books that deserve the spotlight. Tolle was happy that Oprah revisited his book again in 2025.

“I am deeply grateful to Oprah for having made spirituality accessible to a mainstream audience,” Tolle said. “Now, for the second time, she has chosen ‘A New Earth’ for her Book Club, thus bringing it to a new generation of readers at a time of increasing collective challenges.
