This list is going to be different than our usual lists. No more recommending classics because most people should have read them by now. Instead, we will be focusing on amazing mystery novels that everyone should read.
You will likely have heard of some of them but might not have gotten around to reading them. I can tell you right now that you are missing out. These 8 books are epic mysteries that will be impossible to put down. You can see the full list below!
8 Mystery Books That Everyone Should Read
The first novel on the list is a novel that is going to remind you of the movie Inception. It is a strange and haunting story that has more twists than a maze. And you may have to read it multiple times to understand what you just read.

One of my favorite all-time movies is Shutter Island. I watched the movie before I read the book and it felt like two different experiences. Nothing compares to the book and the writing is brilliant. And just like My Annihilation, reading it multiple times will make the plot and narration a lot clearer.

If you haven’t read a novel by Donna Leon, then you are missing out on an amazing author. She writes the Commissario Guido Brunetti series which has over 30 books. It takes place in Venice, Italy and follows detective Guido Brunetti solving crime. A fun fact that I love is that Leon didn’t want her books to be translated to Italian even though her books take place in Italy and she lived for a while.
Conclusion
These are 8 mystery books that everyone should read. This list includes books that are just a tier below classics and must reads. How many of these mystery books have you read? Let us know in the comments below!

Did I miss something? What are the 8 books?
There are only 2 books on this 8-book list, which is a shame, because I really liked the two books that were on it not being another set of “classics” we’ve all already read.
Only two books on the list. The other six must be a mystery.
Where are the other six books?
Somehow we just can’t seem to set the bar too low. I suppose it could be a lame attempt to drive eyes to their website. Dishonest ads have managed to creep into every day journalism.
2?
I only see 2 books?
What a crock.
