The 74th National Book Awards ceremony will be hosted by Drew Barrymore and Oprah Winfrey will make a special appearance according to the National Book Foundation.

Both of them will celebrate the best writing of the year at the ceremony and benefit dinner on November 15th.
Drew Barrymore Will Host the National Book Award
“Throughout their careers, Drew Barrymore and Oprah Winfrey have each demonstrated their enduring belief that books have the power to change readers’ lives—by opening doors, sparking conversations, and building community,” said the foundation’s Chair of the Board of Directors David Steinberger . “This belief echoes the mission of the National Book Foundation to ensure that books have a prominent place in our culture.”
The National Book Award was created in 1950 and celebrates the best writing across fiction, nonfiction, poetry, translated literature and young people’s literature. It has become one of the most prestigious literary awards in the Unites States.
Oprah’s Book Club
Both Barrymore and Oprah are known as big fans of books and have helped new authors reach a bigger audience as well as get more people to read. Oprah’s Book Club is one of the most recognized book clubs and with the help of its millions of members, many authors chosen have become best sellers as a result.
Other guests that will also make an appearance include Nick Offerman and Padma Lakshmi. The ceremony will include many celebrity guests throughout the show.
