Shadow and Bone Season Two will be Adapting Multiple Books

Netflix’s newest hit Shadow and Bone will be borrowing from multiple Leigh Bardugo books from her Grishaverse for season two.

Season Two Will Be Adapting Multiple Books

Showrunners Eric Heisserer and Daegan Fryklind revealed that the second season will be adapting “Multiple books for sure.” In an interview with EW, Heisserer says “We touch on a few others in Leigh’s catalog. There’s a piece that’s integral to the story that was Daegan’s idea that I’m particularly excited about. I don’t think the fans are gonna see that one coming ’cause it’s a pretty deep cut.”

As many fans noticed, season one also borrowed from multiple books and that is going to be the same going forward. Season one combined Shadow and Bone and from the Six of Crows duology. It looks like the showrunners have something special planned because not many people know what they are adapting from.

“I don’t even think that Leigh saw it coming,” Fryklind mentions.

Season Two will be Epic

It has been revealed that season two will be adapting from the second Shadow and Bone trilogy book Siege and Storm. According to EW, season two will also go into the third book Ruin and Rising. That means we most likely will see the season end on a cliffhanger.

Just like season one, expect the show to borrow from the Six of Crows duology as the actors are making a return. It may follow the plot from the book or add a new one to make it work with the overall plot of the show.

Conclusion

There is a lot of material to borrow from Bardugo’s Grishaverse. The showrunners seem to be able to borrow from any of the books and that is going to lead to new plots as the characters interact much sooner than expected in the books. It should still be a good show and I can’t wait to see it when it comes it.

Season two of Shadow and Bone will be released on March 16, 2023 on Netflix.
