The second season of House of the Dragon is going to have a lot more dragons and more action. Don’t take our word for it. Actor Graham McTavish, Ser Harrold Westerling in the show, says that season two is going to include a lot more action.
Actor Says House of the Dragon Season Two Will Have More Dragons
If you don’t know Ser Harrold Westerling by name, you are not alone. He is the former Lord Commander of the Kingsguard who left the crown at the end of the season. During an interview with Metro, McTavish hinted that a lot more dragons will be appearing in season two in the civil war between the Targaryens.

“I think the way that it’s going, is it’s leading towards civil war,” McTavish said. “Civil war is that great thing that countries indulge in when they haven’t got anybody else to go and fight, they seem to just like fighting amongst themselves just to keep their hand in, and this is no different.
“They’ve had peace for a long, long time, and suddenly they are quite literally destroying the kingdom from within and that’s what makes it so interesting, so I would expect more of that – more division, more taking sides.”
More Action and More Dragons
Actors have to keep the upcoming season a secret and can only talk in riddles. Mostly, they will reveal information that is public knowledge. We know that the source material is George R.R. Martin’s book Fire and Blood and that details the epic Dance of the Dragons civil war. The plot isn’t surprising but fans want the details and McTavish wasn’t going into too much detail. While talking about the change in location, he did mention more dragons and that they will be bigger than they were in season one.
“I think it will move out of just the locations that we’ve been in up until now,” he said. “I think season 1 was a much more domestic experience whereas this one will be much more fractured, and possibly move a little more into the world that people are familiar with, with Game of Thrones, where there were multiple storylines existing at one time.
“I would imagine that’s what it would be,” he added. “And more dragons! A few will have been born by the time the show comes out again. And they grow very quickly…”
More Game of Thrones to Come

Season two is promising to be epic and should make up for the lack of dragon battles in season one. The show had to explain how we got to the Dance of the Dragons and it was pretty convoluted. A lot of backstabbing and murdering but that is to be expected in Game of Thrones.
Filming has started for season two and while no release date has been given, it has been speculated that it will arrive in two years. It is one of many shows in the works in the Game of Thrones realm and while they haven’t started filming, they are more likely to become a reality with the success of House of the Dragon. And who knows, we may get even more dragons!
