Elon Musk is not a fan of Amazon’s new The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power show. Keep reading to find out exactly why Musk does not like the show.
Before we dive into this controversy, there some things you need to know. Musk does not like Amazon owner Jeff Bezos. That makes anything that Musk says bias and that is what it feels like in this situation. So, what did Musk actually say?

“ Almost every male character so far is a coward, a jerk or both. Only Galadriel is brave, smart and nice.” Musk also went on to say that “Tolkien is turning in his grave.”
Let’s look at Musk’s statement to give him the benefit of the doubt. Are almost all the male characters cowards jerks? While watching the show, I did not get that feeling. The one character it may apply to being a coward is meteor man but his memory has been wiped out so he doesn’t really count.

Are the Character’s Cowards or Jerks?
Arondir goes against all of the Elves and decides to go back to the human village to say goodbye to his crush. After that, he bravely dives into a giant tunnel. That is anything but cowardly. I know I would not have jumped into that tunnel. Not by myself anyhow.
Elrond goes into the homes of the Dwarves and accepts a challenge he knows he will lose. Entering a foreign nation all by yourself is a perilous task that no coward would do. He doesn’t seem like a jerk but he is using his friendship with the Dwarves prince to his advantage. However, in the scene, his care and affection does seem genuine.
Elon Musk’s Statement Doesn’t Hold Up
It is hard to back up Elon Musk’s claim that most of the male characters are cowardly or jerks. This might be a statement out of spite by Musk. The show was watched by over 25 million viewers in the first 24 hours and has received mostly positive ratings.
