This year has been great for new books and fantasy lovers are also getting to enjoy new books that we have been waiting for months if not years. There are some sequels and final installations to series that we all have needed and now you can read them. You can see the full list below!

The Best Fantasy Books of August 2025

Scorched Earth by Danielle L. Jensen is the final book in the Dark Shores series and fans will be reading this as soon as possible. And if you haven’t read this series. then you’ll be happy to know that you can read all the books in the series without waiting for the next installation.

A fantasy book that many people are excited about is The Magician of Tiger Castle by Louis Sachar. If you think that you recognize the author, then you are right because he wrote Holes, one of the greatest novels ever written. This is Sachar’s first attempt an adult novel and people have been saying great things about it.

A novel that I will be adding to my reading list is The Bone Raiders by Jackson Ford. The premise about a group of raiders riding dragons seems too interesting to pass. Right now, I have a few books I want to read but this will be a novel I will be reading in the coming weeks!

The novel that I will be reading very soon is Katabasis by R.F. Kuang. I am a big fan of Kuang and will read anything she writes. All of her novels have been incredible and this one is maybe her most interesting one yet. Any novel that is compared to Piranesi is a novel that you have to read and I am glad that it is finally out!
