As we head towards the second half of 2025, everyone is releasing their list of the best books of 2025. And this week, we will be looking at the best books of 2025 so far according to BBC. Keep reading to find out which books they chose as must read!

BBC is one of the most consistent publications out there and you can feel their love and joy for books. So, whenever they release a new list, I will be checking it out. And this list is as good as any out there.

Unlike other lists, BBC made sure to include Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie and her newest novel in their list. She is an amazing author and is back with a new novel ten years after writing Americanah. If you haven’t read that novel, then you should stop reading this and read it as soon as possible.

Stag Dance and Dream State are two novels that I am seeing on multiple lists and will be adding them to my reading list. But the one I am most excited for is The Emperor of Gladness by Ocean Vuong.

From what I am seeing and hearing, this may be the best book of 2025. I remember seeing James everywhere and knew that is was going to be one of the best books of 2024 if not the best. The Emperor of Gladness feels like it is the novel of 2025 and I am eager to read it.
