The Brooklyn Public Library released their annual list of the most checked out books of 2024. But we will be only focusing on the most checked out adult books of 2024 here. Keep reading to see what books were the most checked out in 2024!

Here at Books of Brilliance, we love all sorts of books. But we know that including all different books in one group leads to some books being left off as a result. That is why we love data like this that let’s us dive fully into one book group.

Adult books are my most read books and they are easier for me to relate to at my age. That doesn’t mean I don’t read young adult books or even children’s books. But they are the ones I turn to the most often. And we can see what adult books Brooklynites were reading in 2024!

Most Checked Out Adult Books of 2024

The most popular adult book was A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J. Maas. I have yet to get around to reading this novel and series and I will make sure I do so this year. Maas’ two other books cracked the top three and she had one more book in the top ten. What an amazing year and I can’t wait to see who the best-selling author of 2024 was.

Suzanne Collins came in the fourth spot with a Hunger Games prequel. That is an impressive feat considering that over a decade past since The Hunger Games phenomenon happened. And funny enough, the Hunger Games comes right below in the fifth spot.

Adult novels are having a moment and I can’t wait to see what 2025 has to being. I do expect Mass to dominate the charts and library requests. But the literary world is always changing and I can’t wait to experience it with you all!
