March has been a busy month but I am glad that I am able to finally write this list of the books I read in February and share what I have read with you. So, keep reading to find out what I read and if you should read these novels too!
Things happen and sometimes you lose track of things. But now, I am back to writing again and also reading a lot more. While the list may look like I read a lot, I ended up reading five of the books I five days. Which means I read three books for the remainder of the month.
Even as I say that, it should be noted that Demon Copperfield was a long novel and that Children of the Night took me about a week to read. And this month, I have been tackling an even longer novel. With that said, let’s dive into the books I read in February 2025!
Books I Read in February 2025
- First Lie Wins by Ashley Elston
- Five Total Strangers by Natalie D. Richards
- The Seven Dials Mystery by Agatha Christie
- Dirty Music (The Crescent Crew Series Book 3) by Shaun Sinclair
- The Sunlit Man by Brandon Sanderson
- Before the Coffee Gets Cold (Before the Coffee Gets Cold, #1) by Toshikazu Kawaguchi
- Children of the Night by Dan Simmons
- Demon Copperhead by Barbara Kingsolver
First Lie Wins

The first novel I read this month was First Lie Wins by Ashley Elston and was glad I gave it a chance. I have seen this novel on the weekly Goodreads list and I can see why it was beloved by many readers. If you want a thriller with a bunch of plot twists, then First Lie Wins is the book for you. And good luck guessing who the bad guy is.
The Seven Dials Mystery
This year, I have been focuses on reading more Agatha Christie novels which is why I gave The Seven Dials Mystery a chance. This novel feels like a thriller and Christie does a decent job of it but she is just out of her element. The mystery at hand is not her best and the characters aren’t the most memorable.
The Sunlit Man

As a big Brandon Sanderson fan, I am always excited to read new books by him. The Sunlit Man was a great standalone novel and I enjoyed every second of it. Even when Sanderson isn’t writing a trilogy, he is able to create a magical system and a whole new world without information overload. This may be one of my favorite Sanderson novels in recent years.
Before the Coffee Gets Cold
My streak of reading Japanese novels is going strong and in February I read Before the Coffee Gets Cold by Toshikazu Kawaguchi. This was a novel I saw at a bookstore and knew I wanted to read it right there. The novel tackles time travel with interesting rules and has some beautiful writing and storytelling that will met your heart with every short story.
Demon Copperhead

My favorite book of February and maybe all of 2025 maybe Demon Copperhead by Barbara Kingsolver. This award-winning novel is loosely based on David Copperfield by Charles Dickens but with a modern spin.
Kingsolver gives a forgotten and neglected generation a voice while calling out the people poisoning the cities with drugs. Few novels come around that stay with you for a longtime and I know I will be thinking about this novel for years to come.
Conclusion
That is all for this list of the books I read in February 2025. It was a great month and I am happy to have read some amazing books this month. With this month mostly over, I will be returning with next month’s list. Happy reading!
