Every few months, I always hear talk about how fewer and fewer men are reading books. That is a whole different conversation but today, we will be looking at a list of books ever man should read. Keep reading to find out what they are.
This list of books was made by Man of Many, Australia’s largest men’s lifestyle site according to their about page. The team at Man of Many came together and made this list and this list is a good one. Maybe a little too good because there are books here that don’t feel like they belong.
That begs the question, how did the team at Man of Many curate this list? According to them, they chose books that “depict life in motion, providing valuable lessons about gratitude, growth, acceptance and progress, offering a meaningful narrative that will leave you contemplative.“
Based on that, I think you could fit a lot of novels to this list and they would fit right in. It is hard to know what books men should read or even would want to read. Not every book on this list feels like it belongs on this but it is a great list overall.
Books Every Man Should Read According
- Catch-22 by Joseph Heller
- The Road by Cormac McCarthy
- Brave New World by Aldous Huxley
- The Stranger by Albert Camus
- To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee
- Dune by Frank Herbert
- The Secret History by Donna Tartt
- Normal People by Sally Rooney
- Man’s Search for Meaning by Viktor E. Frankl
- Atomic Habits by James Clear
- Into the Wild by Jon Krakauer
- The Stand by Stephen King
- The Narrow Road to the Deep North by Richard Flanagan
- The Hunt for Red October by Tom Clancy
- The Old Man and the Sea by Ernest Hemingway
- One Shot by Lee Child
- In Cold Blood by Truman Capote
- Pour Me: A Life by A. A. Gill
- His Bloody Project by Graeme Macrae Burnet
- The Diary of a CEO by Steven Bartlett
Conclusion
These are great books but they might all not be a good fit for this list. I keep asking why this book is on this list and I can’t always come to an answer. I think everyone should read these books because they are great books.
I keep coming back to why should read some of these books and that is something Man of Many fails to answer. They say that men “should read these books to live a fulfilled life.” What do you think of this list and did Man of Many get it right or wrong?

Great List. My son is currently reading To Kill A MockingBird. It is still required reading in most high schools in the USA.
A good list of books, my favorite is ‘To Kill A Mocking Bird’.
