2024 is slowly coming to and end and this makes it the best time to look back and highlight my favorite books of the year. Find out which books made our list as we continue with part of of my favorite books that I read in 2024!
We posted part one which you can check out here and will continue with the next book that I loved. And this one is a classic sci-fi novel that showcases why sci-fi novels are one of my favorite genres out there!

Hyperion
I am a big sci-fi fan and after reading Hyperion by Dan Simmons, I would rank it as one of the best sci-fi books I have ever read. There are multiple time-lines and point of views and Simmons does a wonderful job of making them feel like their own stories that make this book one amazing read. Simmons is an incredible writer and this is a novel that showcases his amazing talent as a writer and storyteller.

Piranesi
Even after reading hundreds of fantasy books, I am glad that I can still find amazing fantasy novels to read. Piranesi by Susanna Clarke is a modern classic and one of the best fantasy novels of the 2020s. Clarke also wrote Jonathan Strange & Mr Norrell, which is also a classic fantasy novel. Piranesi is a fun adventure novel that has amazing plot twists and has cemented Clarke as one of the best fantasy authors alive.

The Devotion of Suspect X
There are always some books that you read on a whim and they end up becoming one of your favorite reads. For me, that was The Devotion of Suspect X by Keigo Higashino and I still can’t get over this novel. As a fan of mystery novels, I am always searching for great detective novels and The Devotion of Suspect X is brilliant and would make Agatha Christie proud with possibility the greatest plot twist that I have ever read!

A Man Called Ove
Normally, I am reading fantasy and sci-fi novels with a mix of mystery books here and there. But sometimes I will give a fiction novel a read because of how beloved a novel is. This year, that was A Man Called Ove by Fredrik Backman, a Swedish novel, and it was heartwarming and beautiful novel that I had to take breaks in between or I would be crying all over the pages. We all need to thank the translators that make it possible to read these novels in other languages because everyone needs to read these books!
These are four of the best books I read in 2024 and I will be concluding this series in part three. I read almost 60 books this year and will be sharing a full list of all the books I read in the near future!

I absolutely adored A Man Called Ove! And I’m hoping to read Piranesi soon.
I definitely recommend it!
