Stephen King, also known as the King of horror, will be releasing a new horror novel called Never Flinch in early 2025. And he recently shared excerpts from the novel with Entertainment Weekly!

King’s newest novel Never Flinch is about a killer on a revenge mission and a vigilante who is a stalking feminist celebrity speaker. The novel has intertwining stories and brings back characters from his previous novels such as Holly Gibney and gospel singer Sista Bessie. You are never safe from King even after your book is finished.

“When the Buckeye City Police Department receives a disturbing letter from a person threatening to ‘kill thirteen innocents and one guilty’ in ‘an act of atonement for the needless death of an innocent man,’ Detective Izzy Jaynes has no idea what to think,” reads the book’s description. “Are fourteen citizens about to be slaughtered in an unhinged act of retribution? As the investigation unfolds, Izzy realizes that the letter writer is deadly serious, and she turns to her friend Holly Gibney for help.”

“Meanwhile, controversial and outspoken women’s rights activist Kate McKay is embarking on a multi-state lecture tour, drawing packed venues of both fans and detractors. Someone who vehemently opposes Kate’s message of female empowerment is targeting her and disrupting her events. At first, no one is hurt, but the stalker is growing bolder, and Holly is hired to be Kate’s bodyguard — a challenging task with a headstrong employer and a determined adversary driven by wrath and his belief in his own righteousness.”

That book description is going to get a lot of people to pick up this novel even if they didn’t know who the author was. King’s stories are always a fun and scary read and we all love the suspense and plot twists that he creates. You can also check out King’s favorite books list here.

The novel will be released on May 27, 2025. You can read the excerpt from the novel here. Happy reading!
