September is known for new book releases and as we look at the list of new releases, we can see why. It seems like most authors and publishers will be releasing a book this month. We decided to look at PEOPLE’s best books releasing in September and see their standout picks!
If you thought September wouldn’t be memorable, then you would have been way wrong. There are some major names and a few novels that will end up on everyone’s end of year lists. Who’s That Girl
The first book on the list Who’s That Girl by Eve, a rapper and now a talk show host. She was a big part of the early 2000s and this memoir, she talks about her career, motherhood, mental health, and many more topics. I love reading memoirs and getting to look back at historical moments through their eyes.
Tell Me Everything
The novel that will be the talk of the book community in the coming months will be Tell Me Everything by Elizabeth Strout. The Pulitzer Prize winning author revisits her classic characters in her new novel. Oprah Winfrey has already selected this novel as the next book for her book club. You know a book is going to be successful when Oprah mentions it.
Colored Television
Stout’s novel is not the only one chosen for a book club this month. Colored Television by Danzy Senna was chosen by Good Morning America for their book club and just like Tell Me Everything, it is a phenomenal novel. Expect this novel to be everywhere soon and that voilet and read book cover is definitely going to help.
