Book lovers can rejoice as a list of the best cities for book lovers was recently released, showing us which cities are worth living in and visiting if you love books.

Lawn Love has released its list of the best cities for book lovers and has got the internet riled up as a result. The list was made measuring bookstores per square miles, the number of public libraries, and the number of antique and rare bookstores. Book clubs were also used to determine the best cities but that one is a lot harder to measure. You can see the full list below.

New York City Tops List as Best City for Book Lovers

So why did New York City top the list? That is because the city has 571 bookstores, hundreds of libraries, as well as over a hundred independent bookstores and publishing houses. As you can see from the list, big cities dominate the list for obvious reasons.

College towns also made the list outside the top ten and shows that colleges have a lot of power and influence when it comes to books.
