Romance and fantasy author Melissa Blair announced that the fourth and final book in her series, the Halfling Saga, will be titled An Honored Vow and releasing in 2025
PEOPLE got an exclusive look at Blair shared the news with them first. “I’m happy for Keera’s story to have a final resolution and for me to get to end a book without a wicked cliffhanger.”
Like many other romantasy authors over the past couple of years, Blair rose to prominence with the help of TikTok. But unlike her contemporaries, Blair is a self-published author. In 2021, she sent copies anonymously to members of the BookTok community as well as some clues to help them figure out who anonymous was.
Blair has already released three books in the Halfling series which includes A Broken Blade, A Shadow, Crown, and A Vicious Game. The books tell anti-colonialist narratives as well as challenge the imperial power model that is common.
As the series finally wraps up, Blair can’t believe it is actually happening. One can’t help but wonder what will happen to the protagonist Keera once the books are over.
As for Blair, this final book also has the author herself wondering about the saga’s future.
“Keera spends so much of An Honored Vow imagining what’s possible after this story and, in some way, that’s where I am now,” Blair says. “Wondering, what comes next after The Halfling Saga?”
An Honored vow is available for preorder now and will be released in 2025.
