I don’t know about you but I am always excited to see Amazon’s picks of the best books of the year. They have a great team there that has their pulse on the book world. And just as you would expect, their picks are some of the best books released this year.
“We discuss, fight, talk about the ones we like the most,” Al Woodworth, senior manager at Amazon Books “It’s the best day of the year. We get to do what we do best which is advocate for these books and these authors. It’s such an honor and we take it very seriously.”
The Best Books Releases in 2023

The list includes big name releases this year such as Fourth Wing by Rebecca Yarros and The Covenant of Water by Abraham Verghese. But the novel that is promising to win a bunch of awards is none other than The Heaven & Earth Grocery Store by James McBride.
Still, there are novels on the list that didn’t get a lot of attention such as The Art Thief: A True Story of Love, Crime, and a Dangerous Obsession by Michael Finkel and The Berry Pickers by Amanda Peters. You can see the full list below

Holly by Stephen King is absolutely shit, very black/white, no nuances at all in characters
I liked Open Throat by Henry Hoke and The Hidden Palace by Helene Wecker a lot
