After nearly a four-year hiatus, the Hunter x Hunter manga will return for the 47th issue in Weekly Shonen Jump magazine on October 24th.
Hunter x Hunter Manga Resumes After 4 Year Hiatus
Fans of the manga and anime will be excited to find out what happens next as the manga had stopped publishing since November 2018. The new chapters will be published in the English edition of Shonen Jump on October 23rd. Previous chapters will be added to the magazine’s digital vault.
The cover for the manga’s upcoming book volume has been released and is the first volume to be released in four years. It will be shipped on November 4 and has 10 chapters (381-390) that have not been released in a book volume.

Yoshihiro Togashi Announced He Was Writing Rough Drafts for Hunter x Hunter in May
Yoshihiro Togashi, the creator of Hunter x Hunter, first announced in May that he had finished rough drafts for 10 drafts. Just like that, fans of the manga and anime were excited that the story of the beloved manga would continue. No official date was given of when the chapters would be released. Now, it is days away from officially being released in Shonen Jump.
Hunter x Hunter was first published in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump magazine in 1998. Two anime series and two anime films followed as well as video games. The manga has sold over 84 million copies with 36 manga volumes under its belt. Expect the manga to surpass 100 million in the next couple of years as old and new fans will flock for future book volumes.
There hasn’t been any mention of the anime resuming but expect that to be the case with new source material for the show. A huge following and by popular demand will lead to the anime continuing in my opinion.
Hunter xHunter follows the protagonist Gon Freecs, a boy who is in search of his father. He plans to become a hunter and use the resources of a hunter to track his father who was also a hunter.
