July has come and gone and it was a blazing hot month. The good news is that I was able to read a bit more than usual. Keep reading to find out what I read in July!
I mostly stayed in the fiction genre and read fantasy novels. Three of the novels were sequels and one of them was a new series that I fell in love with and should be releasing a review in the upcoming week. Here are the lists of the four books I read (or currently am reading) in July.
What I Read in July
- Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban by J. K. Rowling
- Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire by J. K. Rowling (currently reading)
- The Great Hunt by Robert Jordan
- The Shadow of the Gods by John Gwynne
My Reading List
I started off the month by reading Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban. Some people give this novel a hard time but I enjoyed it. It does have some plot holes but who’s really counting?

After that, I decided to read The Great Hunt, the second novel in The Wheel of Time series. This was tricky because I was not enthralled with the series after the first novel, The Eye of the World but decided to stick with it and I was glad that I did. I loved it from beginning to end and I can see why this series is as popular as it is. Jordan is great at world building and I prefer it when he focuses on the plot and not the mythos of the world he created.

I decided to give The Shadow of the Gods this novel a try after coming across it on Goodreads. The blub was interesting and I am glad that I gave this novel a try. From the first page I was hooked and loved the grittiness of it and the Norse mythology it infused to its world building. Be on the lookout for a full book review in the coming days!
Conclusion
July was a busy month and I am glad I was able to get some reading done. Currently, I am reading the fourth Harry Potter novel but I am not too sure what I will be reading after that. What book(s) are you currently reading?
Are you reading “Harry Potter” for the first time or did you read them when they initially came out?
This is my second time reading it. I didn’t read it when it first came out but years later
