The Let Them Theory by Mel Robbins was the best-selling print book in the United States in 2025, with 2,812,799 copies sold at outlets tracked by Circana BookScan. Suzanne Collins’s Sunrise on the Reaping was the top-selling novel at just over 2 million copies. Rebecca Yarros’s Onyx Storm came in third with its Wing and Claw edition, and its standard edition also made the wider chart.

The top 10 tells two stories about what Americans bought in 2025. New installments drew readers back to Panem, Basgiath, and the world of Dog Man. Older books kept selling too. A domestic thriller from 2022 outsold most of the year’s big releases, and a habit guide from 2018 finished seventh.

The rankings below follow Publishers Weekly’s full-year Circana BookScan chart for the reporting year ended December 27, 2025. The chart counts U.S. print copies sold through reporting outlets, ranks some editions separately, and excludes ebook and audiobook sales.

What the 2025 bestseller list reveals

The edition split matters for Onyx Storm. The Wing and Claw edition sold 1,699,963 copies, and the standard edition ranked 12th with 573,192. Together, those two entries sold 2,273,155 copies. That sum exceeds the reported figure for Sunrise on the Reaping in the chart, which illustrates how grouping editions changes the comparison.

Children’s series took three of the top eight spots. Both Dog Man books and Partypooper made the top eight. The two Pilkey entries alone sold more than 1.4 million print copies, and the older of the two was already on shelves when 2025 began.

Some of the year’s strongest sellers had been on shelves for years. The Housemaid, Atomic Habits, and Fourth Wingall reached the top 10 years after their original publication. The list captures what people bought in 2025, including the books they were still discovering long after launch.
