Narnia readers have a new round of releases to look forward to, including collector’s editions, matching box sets, and a graphic novel adaptation of The Magician’s Nephew. The announcement gives longtime fans and newcomers several ways to revisit C. S. Lewis’s fantasy world ahead of Greta Gerwig’s film.

There is one important distinction: the U.S. collector’s editions arrive in November 2026, while the graphic novel is scheduled for January 12, 2027. These releases adapt or repackage existing Narnia stories; they do not add an eighth novel to Lewis’s original series.

The graphic novel offers a new visual interpretation of Narnia’s origin story. HarperCollins’ UK catalogue credits Ben Hatke as both adapter and illustrator and describes the book as a full-color adaptation.

The story follows Digory and Polly, whose encounter with magical rings takes them beyond their own world. Their journey involves a dangerous sorceress and the creation of Narnia through Aslan’s song.

For me, that creation scene is the strongest reason to be interested in this format. A graphic adaptation can use panel size, color, and the movement between images to give readers a different experience of a familiar fantasy setting. How Hatke handles those choices will be more interesting than simply seeing recognizable characters drawn again.

That is an expectation, rather than a verdict on the finished book. Readers should also distinguish the graphic adaptation from a prose edition with a new cover: it retells the story through sequential artwork.

The UK paperback currently has a January 28, 2027 publication date, compared with the January 12 U.S. date announced for the program.

What Is Special About the 2026 Collector’s Editions?

The deluxe hardcover is aimed at readers who want a display or gift edition of the original novel. The standard collector’s edition listing describes foil effects on the jacket, full-color endpapers, digitally printed page edges, foil stamping on the case, and a ribbon marker.

There are also retailer-exclusive versions. Barnes & Noble’s exclusive edition is listed for November 17 and features jacket artwork by Vance Kovacs printed over foil.

Collectors should compare the exact product images and descriptions before ordering. Different exclusives may have different designs, and the features listed for one edition should not automatically be assumed to apply to every version.
