Many people read to escape reality and forget about their problems. And some people read because they want to change their lives for the better. Which is why we have created a list of three life changing books that you need to read!

Books are magical and they are also educational. Many books will have a life lesson that will stick with the readers. And people will take different lessons away from a book. With that said, we decided to list three books that changed our lives and the lives of many readers.

And no, this isn’t a list of self-help books that changed people’s lives. Instead, we chose novels that impacted the lives of readers by making them fall in love with reading, astound them with an incredible fictional tale, or give them life lessons that changed the direction of their lives. You can see the full list below!

Three Life Changing Books That You Need to Read

There aren’t many books that can have an everlasting impact on a persons’s life. If that was the case, then books would be a lot more popular than phones and movies. But there are novels that stay with a person for the rest of their lives

One such novel that comes to mind is One Hundred Years of Solitude by Gabriel García Márquez. The idea came to Márquez while he went on a trip with his family and the rest is history. This novel is incredibly powerful and showcases the magical ability of novels and how much they can impact you.

Not only is this one of the greatest fiction novels ever written, it offers a lot of messages that have resonated with millions of readers. You might think I am exaggerating how good this novel is but this one review should at least pique your curiosity if you haven’t already read this novel.

One Hundred Years of Solitude is the first piece of literature since the Book of Genesis that should be required reading for the entire human race. . . . García Márquez has done nothing less than to create in the reader a sense of all that is profound, meaningful, and meaningless in life.” – William Kennedy, National Observer

When talking about novels that should be required reading, it is hard not to mention The Lord of the Rings by J.R.R. Tolkien. This is the fantasy novel that may have changed the trajectory of books as we know it. Without this incredible series, the fantasy genre would be a lot different today.

Not only has this novel influenced thousands of fantasy novels since publication, it has also resonated with many readers. The concept of good and evil is painted clearly and there are many lessons that Tolkien shares with readers in his trilogy.

One reader on Reddit shared that the series helped him when he was a kid. “When I was a young teen my parents divorced and I learned of my father’s infidelity. I was reading LOTR and the depictions of honor and integrity reassured me that it was possible to be a good man under dire circumstances.

“Other books have touched me, but none so permanently.”

Lastly, a book that has resonated with me and millions of readers all over the world is The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho. The novel rose to prominence after Bill Clinton was photographed with the book in the 1990s.

There are many lessons to take away from this book and I think where you are in your life will shape the message you hone on. This a beautiful story about searching for a treasure and is one that is easy to relate to. Sometimes all you need is a sign and this novel has been that and more for many readers.
