You may not have heard of many of these books and that’s fine. There are certain names that we recognize and they steal the spotlight at book shops and listicles. You will see them at the front of bookstores and it’s because these authors move units.

The best books don’t often do that. Name recognition goes a long way and we are all guilty of it. That is we need lists of books that are from authors that we have not heard of. The New York Times have released their list of the best romance books of 2025.

The Best Romance Books of 2025

It should come as no surprise that I don’t recognize any of these books. This is one genre that I am not actively following. But I do applaud the New York Times for sharing this list. They could have thrown a list together of the most popular romance books and nobody would have batted an eye.

But the New York Times has a high standard and review a tons of books and we appreciate it. Maybe that should be enough motivation for me to check a book to two on this list out.
