I have been going through tons of lists this past week and have discovered a bunch of new books to read. From The New York Times to PEOPLE, there has been a list from a variety of publications. But other websites such as Goodreads have also gotten in on the fun.

Unlike other lists, Goodreads is data driven and with tens of millions of visitors every year, they have a lot of data to pull from. This list of the most read books of 2025 is a lot different than your handpicked lists. Popular authors and series tend to do well and you are going to say many authors make multiple appearances.

This list is shaped by its audience which tends to be younger and mostly dominated by women. Still, these books are popular for a reason and are displayed at the front of many bookstores. You can see the full list below!

Nobody should be surprised at seeing Onyx Storm at the top spot at this point. It is most likely also the best selling book of the year. And Rebecca Yarros charted three books in the top, showcasing her star power.

Coming in second was Sunrise On The Reaping by Suzanne Collins, The Hunger Games prequel. Freida McFadden also had three books that made the list. She released a ton of books in 2025 alone so this should surprise nobody.

You have most likely seen most of these books in bookstores or on various lists. Atmosphere by Taylor Jenkins Reid has a beautiful cover that makes it perfect for displays. And it is a great novel from what I have been hearing.
