With this month coming to an end soon, we decided to list three fantasy books that we know readers will love and will enjoy reading. So, keep reading to find out the three fantasy books you need to read now!

Sometimes, I think this blog should solely be focused on fantasy novels. That is my favorite genre and I love discovering new fantasy books and series. And when you’re reading a fantasy series, you have a bunch of books to read.

With that in mind, I decided to share three fantasy novels and series that I read recently and wanted to share with readers. I enjoyed all of them for different reasons and can’t wait to read more books from these authors. You can see the full list below!

Three Fantasy Books You Need to Read

Godkiller

Godkiller fantasy novel
Godkiller by Hannah Kaner

A novel that had been on my to-read list for two-years was Godkiller by Hannah Kaner. I finally got around to reading it and couldn’t believe how good this series was. Fantasy novels centered around gods can be a hit or a miss and this novel and series was a big hit.

The novel has two protagonists who are two different missions. Kissen is a godkiller and has little love for the gods but when a young gorl with a god hiding in her pocket approaches her, Kissen risks it all to get her the help she needs.

Elogast is a baker who embarks on a mission to save the life of his friend who happens to be the king. But on the journey, he ends up meeting Kissen and they travel together to the lands of the gods, not knowing what awaits them there.

I loved both novels in the series and the third novel just came out and I can’t wait to get around to reading it. And it won’t take me another two years. I need to know what happens as soon as possible. This series is one I recommend to any fantasy fans that love worldbuilding centered around gods.

The Cloud Roads

The Cloud Roads
The Cloud Roads by Martha Wells

If you haven’t read a novel by Martha Wells, then you are missing out on one of the best fantasy writers of this generation. Her unique protagonists and different creatures and magic systems make her novels unique and unlike anything else and that is very true for The Cloud Roads.

Moon is a shape-shifter who flies at night to keep his powers a secret from the tribe that he is currently traveling with. He is an orphan trying to find out what he is with little success.

When his secret is discovered, Moon is saved by a stranger who can also shape-shift like him. He offers Moon what he always wanted: a tribe where he belongs. But Moon realizes that that is easier said than done.

What I love about The Books of the Raksura series is that paces itself well. There is a lot going on and the survival of a tribe is at stake but we also get Moon trying to discover himself and how he fits in this new tribe. Wells is an amazing author and this series was one I enjoyed a lot.

Piranesi

Piranesi by Susanna Clarke
Piranesi by Susanna Clarke

Novels like Piranesi by Susanna Clarke are why I am a big fantasy fan. If you are a big fantasy fan, then you may recognize Clarke because she wrote Jonathan Strange & Mr Norrell, a modern fantasy classic.

Piranesi lives in a house with infinite rooms, many of them being occupied with statues. The ocean surrounds the rooms and flood the rooms routinely. But Piranesi has memorized many of the rooms and has studied the tides and knows their patterns.

Besides Piranesi, a man called the Other are the only two humans there. He wants Piranesi once. a week to discuss the research. But one day, Piranesi sees another person and he doesn’t know if it is a friend and foe. The appearance of this other person starts the events that will forever change Piranesi’s life as well as The Other’s.

I loved every second of this novel and the worldbuilding in this novel is in a category of its own. Clarke is an amazing storyteller and this is a novel that I think everyone needs to read. Few authors have one classic under their belt but Clarke seems to have a natural talent of writing novels that are relevant over the years.

Conclusion

These are the three fantasy novels that you should read in our honest opinion. I love sharing novels that have stayed with me and articles like these make me want to read even more fantasy books.

Fantasy lovers who have read many of the popular fantasy novels will enjoy these novels. The fantasy genre is in good hands with authors like these. I can’t wait to see what new fantasy novels come to define the 2020s. Happy reading!
