The winner of the 2025 Booker Award was given to Flesh by David Szalay.

On November 10, Flesh was chosen as the winner at the Booker Prize 2025 ceremony in London. He becomes the first Hungarian-British author to win the award. Szalay received £50,000 and a trophy that was given to him by Samantha Harvey, who won the ward last year.

This is Szalay’s sixth novel and he was previously shortlisted for the Booker Prize Award. This was an amazing win by Szalay and I can’t wait to see the novel in many bookstores in the coming weeks.

Flesh was chosen from a group of 153 books reviewed by a judging panel and is one of the most prestigious awards an author can receive. We will be seeing many more be given out in the coming weeks and see our to-read list grow a lot bigger.

Have you read Flesh or pan to read it now that it won the Booker Prize Award? What book did you expect to win? Let us know in the comments below!
