Like many people, I enjoy a good sci-fi novel. But finding good sci-fi novels is not always easy. That is why we will be discussing the best sci-fi books that I read in 2025! Keep reading to find out what they are!
With so many genres out there, I sometimes forget to make time for sci-fi novels. My to-read list keeps growing bigger and bigger with every new novel. I am still trying to get around to reading all the best books of 2024 and I’m sure there are still amazing novels I have yet to come across.
But with that said, I have been reading sci-fi novels here and there and came across a few fantastic novels that I loved. Going forward, I do want to read one sci-fi novel of series every two months. the good thing is that it is always great time to read sci-fi novels. You can see the full list below!
The Best Sci-Fi Books That I Read in 2025
- The Murderbot Diaries by Martha Wells
- The Stardust Grail by Yume Kitasei
- The Memory Police bv Yōko Ogawa, Stephen Snyder (Translator)
If you have been following my blog for the past two months, then you know that I haven’t stopped talking about The Murderbot Diaries ever since I read it. The series has seven books so far and three short stories.

Martha Wells has been racking up awards because of this amazing series and there is a TV show adaptation that I can’t wait to read and review. Murderbot is cynical and unintentionally hilarious and would rather watch TV then do anything else. But it is protective of its humans and will always protect them from the numerous threats out there.
If you need a novel or series to get you back into reading, then this is the one you need to read. Wells is a talented writer and storyteller and I am glad that this series has given her the flowers she deserves.
I decided to read The Stardust Grail by Yume Kitasei after browsing the Goodreads nominees for the best sci-fi books of 2024. The title and blurb caught my eye and I was glad that I give this novel a chance.
This is a heist novel and has a hilarious protagonist that you can’t help but love. Maya Hoshimoto is a retired thief and must now do one last heist that has the stakes of the world and even the universe. There are various alien races and planets that Maya and her crew have to visit to discover the past and find the stardust grail.

There are some novels that you see and know that you will end up reading them. For me The Memory Police bv Yōko Ogawa was one of those novels and I am glad I finally got around to reading it. It is a eerie dystopian novel with one of the most creative plots that I have ever read.
Novels like these are why I love reading and why dystopian novels are some of my favorite books to read. You will definitely get some 1984 vibes and then some. The Memory Police is creative and chilling and a novel that fans of sci-fi novels and dystopian will love from the first page.
Conclusion
After reminiscing about the sci-fi books that I have read, I want to make sure I read even more In the coming months. These are just some of the many amazing sci-fi books out there waiting to be read. I will be sharing even more sc-fi books in the coming months so be on the lookout for that. Happy reading!
