Miguel Ruiz’s book The Four Agreements shares the four agreements to live a happier life. The teachings have been passed down by the Toltec people for generations and have helped Ruiz and millions of other people live a better life because of the choices they make.

The four agreements are a set of codes that a person has to make with themselves, with others, with god, and with society. Only after a person comes to terms with these agreements will they be free of the struggles that haunt most people.

The Four Agreements is a self help book that was published in 1997 and gained popularity after being featured on Oprah’s show The Oprah Winfrey Show in 2001 and again in 2013. The novel went on to be on The New York Times bestseller list for over a decade

In the United States, the book has sold over 15 million copies and has been translated in 53 languages. The novel has been touted as a favorite by many celebrities including former football player Tom Brady. He has said that he reads the book once a year to remind himself the four agreements.

I enjoyed reading the book and do think that is has a lot to offer as a self-help book. The lessons shared by Ruiz are important to living a healthy live. There is a lot of spiritual and religious references that seem to be a big part of the message. 

Conclusion

Self-help books are the best selling books and for good reason. They aren’t that long and promise to make a person become a better version of themselves.
