The Brooklyn Public Library Book has announced the nominees for the BPL Book Prize and we will be looking at all the nominees!
Every year, the Brooklyn Public Library awards the best fiction and nonfiction books. The winners are selected by librarians and the library staff.
Every book nominated tries to capture the “the spirit of Brooklyn,” one of the most diverse communities in the United States. And with that out of the way, you can see the full list below!

These are the Brooklyn Public Library Book Prize nominees for 2025.We have the longest and shortlist for both the fiction and nonfiction lists. The winners will be announced on September 21st. Last year’s winner was Martyr! by Kaveh Akbar for fiction and Black folk : the roots of the Black working class by Blair Murphy Kelley for nonfiction.
