Often times, sci-fi novels get categorized with fantasy novels and it is a trend that needs to spot. They both deserve their own category because they are ultimately two different genres. And luckily for us, we were able to get a list of sci-fi books only in this list.

The Best New Science Fiction Books Releasing in September

You might recognize Cixin Liu from either his popular sci-fi series The Three-Body Problem or the Netflix show of the same name. The books are worth reading if you haven’t already read them. His latest novel is a collection of 32 short stories that cover a range of sci-fi tropes that are common in the genre.

Another author I have read before on this list is Yume Kitasei and I am excited about her latest novel Saltcrop. I loved The Stardust Grail and can’t wait to see what new adventures take place in Saltcrop. This novel tackles climate change and I will be adding it to my to-read list.

If you like a good sci-fi murder mystery, then you will enjoy Extremity by Nicholas Binge. Retired detective Julia Torgrimsen is brought to investigate the murder of a billionaire that she worked for while undercover. When she arrives at the crime scene, there are two bodies and both of them are of billionaire Bruno Donaldson.

Conclusion

There are a bunch of new books to read and this month’s list of sci-fi novels are must reads in my opinion. Whether you like short stories or a good mystery novel, this list has it all.
