Another week, another weekly New York Times book recommendations list to check out. This week, we have six very different books that we are excited for. So, keep reading to see the New York Times 6 book recommendations this week!
I, for one, am always looking forward to the New York Times weekly book recommendations list. Browsing lists is fun and helpful but there are just too many books. Instead, I need a shorter list of books that someone has read and enjoyed enough to write about them.
As always, the New York Times recommendations are made up by critics and editors at the Times. The list includes memoirs, biographies, and romance novels to name a few. You can see the full list below!
New York Times 6 Book Recommendations This Week
- Strong Roots: A Memoir of Food, Family, and Ukraine by Olia Hercules
- Baldwin: A Love Story by Nicholas Boggs
- August Lane by Regina Black
- Departure 37 by Scott Carson
- Born in Flames: The Business of Arson and the Remaking of the American City by Bench Ansfield
- Black Moses: A Saga of Ambition and the Fight for a Black State by Caleb Gayle
I have been reading a lot more memoirs and books related to cooking so I am excited to see a memoir about food as the first recommendation. With what is happening in Ukraine, I can imagine that this book was easy to write but that didn’t stop Olia Hercules and I will be adding this to my reading list.
After reading the blurb for Departure 37 by Scott Carson, I am curious and want to give it a read. The premise of this novel is that hundreds of pilots receive phone calls from their mothers, some of whom are dead. That alone is going to pique most people’s interest.
Even though I am sure I have surpassed my quota for nonfiction books for this year, I will most definitely be reading a few more. And Born in Flames might be one on top of my list. Apparently, landlords would set apartments they own on fire because they would make a lot more money from insurance. History is sometimes wilder than fiction.
Conclusion
These are the New York Times 6 book recommendations this week and it is a solid list. The variety of books is what I loved the most about this week’s list. I know I will be adding a couple to my reading list. What books are you most likely to read? Let us know in the comments below!
