Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?

One of my all time favorite sci-fi novels is Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep? by Philip K. Dick. This is the novel that made me a sci-fi fan and made me seek out more sci-fi books as a result. The plot is interesting and thought-provoking and yes, the book does get weird but it doesn’t take from the amazing experience that the novel provides.
Ender’s Game
When I picked up Ender’s Game by Orson Scott Card, I did not know what I was in for. The novel sets up Ender’s adventure and when the rug is pulled from under you, you realize just how incredible of an author Card is. As a sci-fi fan, I recommend this novel toe everyone who wants to get into this genre.
Frankenstein
A classic sci-fi novel that is a must read is Frankenstein by Mary Shelley. When Shelley wrote this novel, she could never have imagined that her novel would be relevant two centuries later and a classic. We have all heard of Frankenstein which is why this novel should be read and reshape how they view the monster created by Frankenstein.
Hyperion

Dan Simmons is one of my favorite authors to read because of how much world building he does in his novels. And Hyperion is an amazing novel that will leave you breathless and is one of my favorite reads of all time. The multitude of characters and the plots within the main plot made this novel and series an amazing experience.
Dune
Just like Hyperion, the world building of Dune by Frank Herbert is epic and since it is also a fantasy novel, the world building is top notch. The success of the recent movies has definitely helped this novel trend again and rightfully so. Dune is an amazing sci-fi novel and is a must read if you want the perfect sci-fi and fantasy novel.
Strangers in a Strange Land

A novel that isn’t as popular as the other books on this list is Stranger in a Strange Land. The story is about a human who grew up among an alien race and returns back to Earth. The government wants to study him but things go awry as he escapes. There are a lot of issues that the novel tackles and questions what it means to be humans.
